Libertarian Party of Bexar County

Libertarian Party of Bexar County meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. Meetings are held at 4154 Swans Landing, about 6/10 of a mile north of Loop 410 on Perrin Beitel. It is next door to Castle Dental and across the street from Golden Phoenix.

The major political parties want you to believe that the only way to cut government is to choose between letting the poor starve or abandoning national defense. If you buy into a false premise, then you have already lost the debate.

The major political parties want you to believe that they can control spending without ever abolishing any of the government agencies. These government agencies are the real insiders that the two major parties really represent. By contrast, the Libertarian Party wants to abolish the entire authority that creates the regulating agencies, thus completely abolishing the agencies. This is the only way to bring runaway government under control.

The Democrats and Republicans do not want you to believe that a choice like that even exists, but we are here to give you the ability to pull a lever that sends the government a message that less government is what you want!



Meetings and Events 2010

Feb. 16: There will be a brief discussion about the website and a brief discussion about the conventions next month, after which (if there is time) David Alter will speak on The Party of Principle: Why people vote for Libertarians.

Feb. 26-28: State Leadership Conference in Austin

Mar. 9: Precinct Conventions: All precincts in Bexar County: To become a party affiliate you MUST ATTEND this convention and you MUST BRING your Voter Registration Card.

Mar. 13: County Convention: All county offices are up for nomination at this convention.

Mar. 16: Business Meeting

Mar. 20: District Convention: Nomination of candidates for districts that are only partly in Bexar County takes place at this convention.

Libertarians offer a real change: full respect for your independence and integrity as an individual, an end to government trespassing on your property, and security for all your peaceful and honest activities in your business and in your private life. The dynamic Libertarian movement is bringing together people from a wide variety of political backgrounds -- people who see that economic and personal liberty are two sides of the same coin, and who are willing to stand up for their beliefs.

To restore prosperity, freedom, and peace to America, we must restore our Libertarian heritage. As individuals we must return to the principle of tolerance and respect for the rights of others. Activities which are crimes for individuals -- theft, assault, kidnapping, intimidation and murder -- must be crimes for government agents as well. Socialized "public services" must be privatized and replaced by efficient, free-market businesses. The crushing burden of confiscatory taxes and suffocating regulations must be lifted from our economy.
